Living under persistent stress or experiencing a trauma can cause emotions to become dysregulated and out of control. The daily practice of grounding techniques can help you to feel more connected with yourself and improve your resilience to feeling overwhelmed. Don’t worry if you become distracted when you first practice grounding techniques – this just means that you’re human with a busy human mind. If you do become distracted all you need to do is bring your attention back to the exercise without criticism or judgement and remind yourself that you’re doing the best you can.
